The Council of American Master Mariners (CAMM)
CAMM was founded in 1936 by a nucleus of distinguished shipmasters who felt there was a need to share their expertise with other shipmasters, the maritime community, and public. They were concerned with maintaining the standards and prestige of the American Merchant Mariners and Shipmasters. They promote the effective and professional American Merchant Marine, render public service by expressing the consider professional opinions of Master Mariners regarding maritime issues, cultivate an attitude of continuing education within the profession, foster the exchange of information between industry companies to promote common purpose and friendship within the industry, and encourage improvements in all nautical facilities.

Located in Edmonds, Washington (only 20 minutes from Downtown Seattle) Compass Courses Maritime Training provides the most needed training for mariners on a frequent and consistent schedule. Our facilities include multiple classrooms, our own full-size lifeboat and gravity davit and a TRANSAS simulator system for Radar training (RFPNW). Compass Courses has ample parking, and we are located near multiple transportation centers. We are walking distance from the Amtrak / Sounder train station, Washington State Ferries, and Community Transit bus line. The Ocean Peace
The F/T Ocean Peace is a factory trawler that catches, processes and freezes a variety of wild-caught Alaskan fish. Ocean Peace, Inc. (OPI), a wholly owned subsidiary of US Marine Corporation, is a member of the Ground Fish Forum and Best Use Cooperative. The U.S. Marine Corporation owns a number of other vessels, some of which are managed by OPI< as Well as Master Marine Inc., a shipyard located in Bayou LaBatre, Alabama.
